Why this exists
Mac users were getting the worst of it.
If you’ve ever loaded sounds onto a Lucky Duck from a Mac and watched the caller glitch, skip tracks, or refuse to play half your files — that was probably macOS writing hidden metadata onto the SD card. .DS_Store, .fseventsd, .Spotlight-V100. Invisible on your laptop. Poison on your caller.
Nobody who builds callers builds serious software for Mac. The utilities shipped with them are Windows-first, rarely updated, and have no idea any of this is happening. The workarounds — eject-before-disconnect routines, command-line cleanup scripts, dot_clean, endless reformats — assume you’re both a hunter and a sysadmin.
HowlVault exists because managing an e-caller library shouldn’t require either. The Bridge strips every hidden file before ejection. The vault speaks every major caller brand’s native format. Drag, drop, hunt. That’s supposed to be the whole experience.
Who builds it
A small team. All hunters.
HowlVault is built by Apex Global LLC. Software engineers who hunt, and hunters who test every build the way they actually use it — from the truck, from the stand, on whatever caller they ran last season.
No investors. No growth team. No roadmap decided by people who’ve never held a caller. When something breaks, the person who fixes it is also the person who needs it working by opening day.
